Tonight is a very special night for us here at the winery. This is our 7th anniversary of being open to the public, and our very first anniversary of documenting the world of Herzog winemaking with our Wining with Joe video series. To commemorate the day, Joe and I put together a little video. We hope that you enjoy it (click on the window below to open it):
To celebrate, we will be having our 7th Anniversary Soiree this coming Tuesday, July 10th – from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Herzog Wine Cellars. ‘Wining With Joe’ has been bringing you the ‘inside scoop’ from Ventura County winery Herzog Wine Cellars – courtesy of our winemaking protagonist, Joe Hurliman. Everything from early season vineyard trips, to the deconstruction of a wine barrel, even to a guest hive of honey bees that visited our winery has been streaming across YouTube from Oxnard, California to our fans. You can now keep up with Joe on facebook at:
This facebook page will allow fans to get in touch with headwinemaker Joe Hurliman, as well as keep up with image posts and comments as we continue our Ventura County winemaking video series. Don’t forget to ‘like’ us – and thank you for watching! Cheers -
In this episode, we are back at Warnecke Vineyard and on the trail of any pesky vermin who may have an eye out for grapes. Winemaker Joe Hurliman and Vineyard Watch Dog Zephyr take a stroll past Cabernet Sauvignon on this second trip up north to Sonoma Valley. Gophers beware – this Parson Russell Terrier takes his work very seriously.
From Ventura County, wine making protagonist Joe Hurliman shares a very rare and beautiful event from Herzog Wine Cellars in Oxnard, CA. In this segment, our wine maker takes a moment from his wine making duties to give a ‘first person’ perspective of a honey bee colony visiting our wine cellars. See what happens when California honey bees move in to a wine barrel. We hope that you enjoy the 12th blend of Wining with Joe!
Answer: Herzog Late Harvest Orange Muscat!
This all NEW wine by Herzog Wine Cellars celebrates a crisp, clean and refreshing taste. Perfect as an anytime tropical splash, Herzog Late Harvest Orange Muscat users in notes of apricot, fresh pineapple and orange peel.
All of us at Herzog Wine Cellars are humbly grateful for our recent recognition this week by Wally’s, Zagat’s highest rated wine shop in Los Angeles. Here is an excerpt:
Our red wind ‘find’ is the truly remarkable, extremely-limited production 2009 Baron Herzog Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon. Enter this beauty in any non-kosher tasting of 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, and we assure you its quality will rival any of those in the $75-$150 price category. Precociously aromatic and approachable now, its sophistication provides instant pleasure, but its mountain-grown charms will continue to mature and offer added nuance for years to come. Alas, only a few hundred cases were produced, but we made certain to corner our fair share to offer you. Bringing this noble wine to the table will guarantee that both you – and the wine – will be the dual centers of attention!
